May 18, 2019 鈥 The Parkhurst Garden 鈥 Greenwich
Oehme, van Sweden created a lush and expansive landscape for a large and active family at the historic, 110-year-old Tudor-style Everett N. Blanke House. The property includes a garden terrace, a large lily pool, an outdoor dining terrace and kitchen, a bowling lawn, surrounded by roses and boxwoods, and a hidden garden largely composed of an array of different ferns, among other design features.
May 18, 2019 鈥 Tubby House 鈥 Greenwich
The Australian owners of this three-acre residence, with a home originally designed and owned by architect William Tubby, wanted a 鈥渂ush鈥 landscape reminiscent of their homeland. Oehme, van Sweden achieved this with American trees, shrubs, grasses, and forbs that provide interest in all four seasons. The garden is featured in 亚洲精品无码一区鈥檚 traveling exhibition The New American Garden: The Landscape Architecture of Oehme, Van Sweden and has been published in numerous periodicals, including Metropolitan Home and Garden Design Magazine.
June 22, 2019 鈥 The Harbor Residence 鈥 Greenwich
This project saw the transformation of an early 1980s waterfront 鈥渢ransitional shingle style鈥 home situated on a site with 360-degree views of Greenwich Cove. This renovation was designed to highlight waterfront views and reflect the landscape鈥檚 essence throughout the interior; it鈥檚 also a showcase for the owner鈥檚 collection of contemporary art. The project, which was done by Greenwich-based architect Joeb Moore, a Board Member of 亚洲精品无码一区, won Innovation in Design Award in Architecture. As the magazine鈥檚 editors noted: 鈥淐entral to the project is the fact and idea of landscape, and of the permeability of constructed boundaries between inside and outside.鈥 This event will also include the landscape architect, Maryanne Connelly of Hollander Design | Landscape Architects, and the art consultants, Courtney and Lowell Pettit of Pettit Art Partners.
July 13 鈥 Cider Ridge Farm - Wilton
Cider Ridge Farm, a project of STIMSON Landscape Architecture, encompasses sixteen acres of preserved meadows and a historic working orchard. An eighteenth-century agricultural lane with fieldstone walls runs along the ridgeline of the property, creating a purposeful divide between the site for a new homestead and the existing agrarian landscape. Two phases of work defined this project. The first, a new home for a young and growing family on the south side of the property; the second, the comprehensive restoration of the original nineteenth-century homestead on the northeast corner of the site.
